Event features

Event features describe the detected earthquakes beyond their location and magnitude. features is a list of feature extractors; Qseek runs them for every detection and stores the results with the detections.

Ground motion

Measures the peak ground acceleration (PGA), the peak horizontal acceleration and the peak ground velocity (PGV) on the restituted waveforms of every station. The stations need instrument responses from StationXML. The event features are the maxima over all stations.

GroundMotionExtractor pydantic-model

Bases: FeatureExtractor

Peak ground motions of the detected events.

The peak ground acceleration (PGA), peak horizontal acceleration and peak ground velocity (PGV) are measured on the restituted waveforms of each receiver. The event features hold the maxima over all receivers.

Fields:

seconds_before pydantic-field

seconds_before: float = 3.0

Start of the measurement window in seconds before the first arrival at the receiver.

seconds_after pydantic-field

seconds_after: float = 8.0

End of the measurement window in seconds after the last arrival at the receiver.

get_subclasses classmethod

get_subclasses() -> tuple[type[FeatureExtractor], ...]

Get the subclasses of this class.

Returns:

Type Description
tuple[type[FeatureExtractor], ...]

list[type]: The subclasses of this class.

To extract the features of an existing run again, see recalculate magnitudes and features.
